A publication created to celebrate my dissertation narrative. The Propaganda Apparatus investigates the different forms that propaganda is manifested in North Korea. The book identifies all recurring themes and mediums used in the DPRK’s well-oiled propaganda machine, covering a wide spectrum of practices, from the county’s art to its tourism industry. The visual style of the publication was inspired by the vibrant colour palette of Pyongyang’s architecture, as well as the hanbok colours (national dress of Korea).
